The Aberdeen Angus producers observe strict discipline and policing of the cattle under the scheme in order to maintain the high quality standards as laid down in the Board of Trade regulations which govern it.
Cattle sired by Aberdeen Angus bulls are monitored from birth, and are subject to a rigorous grading inspection by the Meat and Livestock Commission Inspectors before their meat is certified as genuine, quality Aberdeen Angus. All cattle are authenticated in this way and, although others may advertise their beef as being Aberdeen Angus, if it is not indicated as being 'Certified' you cannot be certain that it is the genuine article.
